Job Description:
Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)
An established and talented engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility while working on a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and ground engineering projects.
You will play a key role in the delivery of ground investigation and geotechnical design projects across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial developments.
Key Responsibilities:
*Managing and delivering geotechnical site investigations
*Producing and reviewing geotechnical interpretative reports (GIR) and factual reports
*Geotechnical analysis and design including foundations, earthworks and slope stability
*Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and site staff
*Liaising with clients, contractors and project teams
*Assisting with project management including budgets and programme delivery
Requirements:
*Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
*Typically 5+ years’ experience within a geotechnical consultancy or ground engineering environment
*Strong experience in geotechnical reporting and design
*Experience managing ground investigations and supervising site works
*Working towards or already achieved Chartered status (ICE or Geological Society) would be beneficial
*Full UK driving licence
