Are you an experienced bookkeeping professional seeking a new opportunity?
Our client, a well-established organisation with over 50 years of experience in logistics and distribution across a range of industries, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will support the finance function with day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.
Location: Wirral
Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience
Type: Full-time, on-site
Key Responsibilities*Recording daily financial transactions and maintaining the general ledger
*Reconciling bank statements and ensuring accuracy in financial records
*Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
*Issuing invoices and processing supplier payments
*Organising financial documentation for audit and compliance purposes
*Assisting with VAT returns
*Managing credit control tasks
*Providing support with general bookkeeping and wider finance duties as required
Requirements*Previous experience in bookkeeping
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Confident communication skills across phone and email
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance software
*Proactive, organised approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Logical thinking and effective problem-solving skills
