The Commercial Team at AJ Chambers are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organised Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their supportove Accounts teams based in Chelmsford.
Initially a 12 month maternity cover, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounts payable experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
As Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts payable function. You will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, reconciling statements, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Your responsibilities will include -
*Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
*Matching, batching, and coding invoices
*Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
*Preparing payment runs (BACS/cheques)
*Handling supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
*Assisting with month-end procedures
*Maintaining accurate and up-to-date ledger records
Initailly this is a 12 Month Maternity cover owever this is a busy and part of a larger Finance divison so there could be potential for this to continue or become permanent.
About You
*Previous experience in a purchase ledger / accounts payable role
*Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
*Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
*Excellent organisational and time-management skills
*Strong communication skills
*AAT qualification (or studying towards) desirable but not essential
