About the Role
A well-regarded secondary school in Reading is seeking a passionate and engaging English Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who enjoys inspiring young people and delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
You will join a supportive English department, delivering planned lessons, maintaining positive behaviour, and helping students achieve meaningful progress during the remainder of the academic year.
Responsibilities
*Teach English to KS3 and KS4 following the school curriculum
*Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons
*Assess, monitor, and record student progress
*Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
*Collaborate with colleagues within the English department
*Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and learning standards
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
*Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
*Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (preferred)
*Excellent communication and classroom management skills
*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
