Job Description:
Teqniq is searching for a Principal Finance Officer to work in the public sector.
37 hours per week.
7 month contract.
09:00-17:00
Job Description:
*Ensure and manage the provision of a full range of accountancy and treasury management services and advice to the Authority. To include, advising and assisting the Chief Executive (National Park Officer) and other staff on budget and financial planning.
*The postholder will be required to act as the Authority’s Section 151 Officer and be qualified to fulfil this role.
*Lead the annual review and preparation of the Annual Governance Statement and Local Code of Corporate Governance.
Essential duties/knowledge:
• Undertake the submission of statutory and statistical returns.
• Undertake budget monitoring – liaise with budget holders on a regular basis.
• Complete closedown and notes to the Statement of Accounts and publish the unaudited accounts by the statutory deadline 30th June 2026 for public inspection.
• To provide administrative and financial support to external grant funded projects. Assisting in the process of external grant claim, including record keeping and the reconciliation and collation of grant claim submissions.
• To have knowledge of the Unit 4 financial system [this is essential].
• Public sector experience.
• Capital accounting.
