Based near Bedford
£53,000–£54,000 per annum
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for a hands-on, hardware-focused role within a specialist machinery manufacturer? This is an opportunity to join a well-established engineering business that designs and manufactures bespoke industrial machinery for key sectors.

The Role
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering & Automation Team Leader, you will join a close-knit team. You’ll play a key role in the conceptual and detailed design of special-purpose machinery.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Creating electrical circuit designs from written specifications
*Producing complete schematic drawing packages
*Generating and maintaining Bills of Materials within the ERP system
*Designing for manufacture and assembly
*Liaising with suppliers on purchased components
*Supporting production, service, and sales teams
*Developing test plans and procedures
*Supporting projects to demanding timescales and budgets
This role is predominantly office-based, particularly as manufacturing is on-site and collaboration with production teams is key.
About You
We’re looking for a motivated and practical Electrical Design Engineer who thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.
Essential:
*1+ year of EPLAN experience would be desirable, however other electrical CAD packages will be considered.
*Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical
*Degree, HND or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
*Strong understanding of electrical circuit diagrams and symbols
*Proven experience in electrical hardware design
*Knowledge of EN60204 and EN13849
