We are supporting a large, multi-billion-pound organisation in Liverpool in the recruitment of a Financial Reporting Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role sits within the Group Finance function and will play a key part in strengthening financial reporting, controls and technical accounting capability across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to develop within a large, complex organisation, with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and reporting enhancements.
Key Responsibilities*Preparation and review of statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards
*Ownership and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring strong controls and integrity across financial reporting
*Supporting year-end and interim audit processes, acting as a key contact for auditors
*Assisting with the development and maintenance of accounting policies, frameworks and technical guidance
*Identifying opportunities for process improvement and standardisation across the reporting function
*Supporting month-end and year-end close activities where required
*Working closely with wider finance teams to ensure consistent reporting standards and compliance
About You*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or close to qualification
*Strong experience within financial reporting or technical accounting
*Proven experience preparing statutory accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
*Good understanding of accounting standards and policy frameworks
*Experience identifying and implementing process improvements within finance functions
*Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly
