About the RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join a fast-paced Acute Team in Bristol and Weston. This ongoing locum role offers flexibility with both part-time and full-time options available, alongside a competitive hourly rate of £26.50. You will deliver high-quality, specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment within the acute hospital setting, playing a key role in patient recovery, safe discharge planning, and optimising functional outcomes.

Job PurposeTo provide high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients within the acute hospital setting. You will independently manage a complex caseload, support safe and timely discharges, and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Band 6 Physiotherapist, you will:
*Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute medical, surgical, respiratory, and complex conditions.
*Apply advanced clinical reasoning to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
*Deliver respiratory care, mobility interventions, and rehabilitation programmes as required.
*Assess functional ability, falls risk, and discharge needs.
*Contribute to rapid discharge planning, including same-day discharge and discharge-to-assess pathways.
*Provide education, advice, and support to patients, families, and carers.
Multidisciplinary Working*Work closely with MDT colleagues including doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, therapy assistants, and discharge teams.
*Participate in board rounds, MDT meetings, and discharge planning discussions.
*Liaise with community services to ensure continuity of care following discharge.
Leadership, Supervision & Education*Support, supervise, and mentor Band 5 physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students.
*Act as a role model, providing day-to-day clinical guidance to junior staff.
*Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
