Finance Assistant - Temporary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on an ongoing basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in supporting wider finance and sustainability initiatives.
You will play a key part in managing the purchase ledger, assisting with internal audits, supporting carbon footprint reporting, and collating business data to help drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger
*Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
*Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
*Prepare and maintain purchase ledger reports
*Assist with payment runs and ensure compliance with internal controls
Internal Audit Support
*Support internal audit activities by preparing documentation and evidence
*Assist in monitoring compliance with financial policies and procedures
*Help identify areas for improvement in processes and controls
Carbon Footprint & Sustainability Reporting
*Collect and analyse environmental and energy usage data
*Assist with preparation of carbon footprint reports
*Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate data submission
*Support ongoing sustainability reporting initiatives
Data Collation & Reporting
*Gather financial and operational data from multiple departments
*Organise and present data for management reporting
*Maintain accurate records and support ad hoc data requests
*Assist in developing improved data-tracking processes
Skills & Experience
Essential:
*Experience in a finance or accounts administration role
*Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes
*Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
*Good organisational and time-management skills
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
*Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Desirable:
*Experience supporting internal audits
*Exposure to sustainability or carbon reporting
*Knowledge of finance systems or ERP software
*Studying AAT or similar qualification (or interest in doing so)
