Part-Time Senior Finance Professional (18 Month FTC)
Hemel Hempstead | Part-Time (2 long days or 3 shorter days) | Office-Based
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior finance professional to join a well-established and growing SME based in Hemel Hempstead on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
This is a key role within the finance team, providing high-level oversight and support across the finance function, ensuring accurate management reporting while helping to develop processes and strengthen the capability of the existing team.
With a turnover of approximately £7 million, the business operates across multiple entities and has a complex structure, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys understanding how a business works in detail and collaborating with different teams across the organisation.
The Role
Working closely with senior leadership, you will play an important role in reviewing and consolidating financial information, supporting the production of management accounts, and ensuring robust financial processes are in place.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts, reviewing outputs from the finance team and making final adjustments where required
*Preparing and reviewing group financial reporting across multiple entities
*Supporting budget preparation and maintaining rolling financial forecasts
*Overseeing cash flow reporting and financial performance tracking
*Ensuring compliance with VAT, Companies House and regulatory requirements
*Acting as a key liaison with external accountants during year-end processes
*Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting
*Supporting and developing members of the finance team through mentoring, training and guidance
*Collaborating with other areas of the business to gain a strong understanding of operational activity and financial impact
About You
This role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement.
You will likely bring:
*Experience producing or reviewing management accounts within an SME or multi-entity environment
*The ability to review, refine and improve financial processes
*A natural curiosity and desire to understand how the wider business operates
*Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with teams across the organisation
*Experience mentoring, coaching or developing finance staff
*Strong attention to detail and confidence working with complex financial data
Why This Role?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded SME with a collaborative culture, where your experience will make a genuine difference. The role offers flexibility in working pattern while allowing you to play a meaningful part in strengthening and supporting the finance function.
Part-time: 2 longer days or 3 shorter days per week.
