Job Title: CNC Operator / Setter

Overview
Our client, a well-established and growing precision engineering company, is currently seeking experienced CNC Operators/Setters to join their day shift manufacturing team. With a strong presence in the Automotive, Motorsport, Defence, and Electronics sectors, this is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on high-precision, low-volume components using state-of-the-art CNC machining technology.
Key Responsibilities
? Set and operate CNC Horizontal/Vertical machining centres (Mazak, Heidenhain, and Fanuc controls)
? Edit CNC programs at the machine as required to optimise performance
? Produce first-off components and support production runs to ensure accuracy and quality
? Inspect own work using appropriate measuring tools and techniques
? Record production data and maintain routing sheet documentation
? Maintain organisation by returning drawings, fixtures, and tools to the correct locations
? Follow safety and quality standards to ensure product conformity
? Support continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction and process enhancements
? Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace
Candidate Profile
? Proven experience in CNC milling with the ability to set and operate machinery
? Comfortable working to tight tolerances and inspecting high-precision components
? Knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T)
? Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team
? Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Education & Experience
? GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
? HNC Level 3 in Engineering (desirable)
? Alternatively, a strong, proven track record in CNC machining will be considered
