Job Description:
An international, full-service law firm with a well-established and highly ranked IP practice is discreetly hiring a Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to support the continued strategic growth of its Patent Litigation team in London.
This is not a reactive hire. It is forward-planning aligned to long-term expansion and succession within a busy contentious IP practice.
The Team
The London IP group forms part of a broader international disputes platform and is particularly well known for:
*High-value, multi-jurisdictional patent litigation
*Cross-border coordination with European counsel
*Complex, technical disputes across life sciences, pharma, telecoms and technology
*Acting for multinational corporates and innovators
The team is already well covered on soft IP / non-contentious matters. This hire is specifically for litigation-focused patent specialists.
The Role
You will:
*Lead and run substantial elements of High Court patent litigation
*Manage technically complex matters with significant expert involvement
*Supervise juniors and play an increasing client-facing role
*Contribute to strategy and long-term practice development
This role suits someone who wants genuine responsibility within a respected platform, without being lost in an oversized disputes structure.
Candidate Profile
*5-9 PQE (guideline)
*Strong track record in contentious patent litigation
*Experience in life sciences, tech or telecoms highly advantageous
*Comfortable handling expert evidence and technical subject matter
*Commercially astute and team-oriented
