Assurance Framework Consultant
Location: Swindon (2 days per week on-site)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + bonus + benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assurance Framework Consultant to play a key role in strengthening risk management, oversight, and control effectiveness across the organisation. This senior-level position is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-driven, insight-led environment and has a strong background in assurance, risk, or T&C-related roles.
In this role, you’ll enhance and embed a forward-looking assurance framework, lead thematic reviews, and use data and insight to drive continuous improvement and informed decision making. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help shape assurance strategy, reporting, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop and continuously improve the organisation’s Assurance Framework.
*Strengthen operational controls and drive efficiency across business processes.
*Use MI, dashboards, and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
*Lead thematic reviews and investigations, ensuring high-quality outputs and actionable findings.
*Produce clear, insightful reporting for senior leadership and governance committees.
*Support innovation through new data tools, technology, and future-focused assurance solutions.
*Influence and engage stakeholders across multiple business areas at senior levels.
Experience & Skills Required
*Extensive experience in assurance, risk, Training & Competence, or related oversight roles.
*Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and deliver clear recommendations.
*Strong analytical ability with experience using MI, data, and dashboards to inform decisions.
*Good understanding of assurance models, control frameworks, and risk-based oversight.
*Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with experience influencing senior leaders.
*Comfortable contributing to change initiatives and continuous improvement.
*Knowledge of FCA regulations, Conduct Risk, and SM&CR is beneficial.
*Relevant qualifications (Level 4 Diploma or degree-level) are an advantage.
