Nursery Chef – Chelmsford, Essex CM2
Salary: Circa £17,844.84 per year / £13.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 27 hours per week | Monday, Wednesday & Thursday | 8:00am–5:00pm
Contract: Permanent, all year round – Not suitable for term-time or school-hours applicants
We are looking for a passionate Nursery Chef in Chelmsford to join our friendly, family-run nursery in CM2. This Nursery Chef role in Chelmsford is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and making a positive impact on children’s health and wellbeing.
All meals at our nursery are freshly prepared on site. As a Nursery Chef, you will be responsible for creating balanced, nutritious meals for children while ensuring menus are inclusive of allergies, intolerances, and religious dietary requirements. ResponsibilitiesAs a Nursery Chef in Chelmsford, you will:
*Maintain high hygiene standards in line with Food Standards Agency guidelines
*Plan and prepare balanced menus considering dietary needs
*Manage kitchen records, stock, and food safety procedures
*Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
*Support a positive approach to healthy eating within the nursery
About YouTo be successful in this Nursery Chef role, you will have:
*Minimum 1 year experience as a Nursery or School Chef/Cook
*Passion for children’s nutrition and preparing healthy meals
*Experience managing allergies and dietary requirements
*Organised and confident working independently
*Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
*Eligibility to work in the UK
