Job Description:
Manufacturing Engineer
Gloucester – Permanent – Full-time – Salary up to £55,000
The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on optimising and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production operations. Responsible for driving continuous improvement across production systems, improving workflow efficiency, reducing waste, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Working closely with production, quality, and design teams to deliver operational improvements and help develop a high-performing manufacturing environment.
The Role:
*Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques
*Provide hands-on technical support to resolve manufacturing and production issues
*Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve productivity
*Work with the Quality team to maintain and improve standards and performance
*Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through to production
*Specify, design, and implement tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve efficiency
*Monitor and analyse production performance using data and statistical tools
*Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
*Collaborate cross-functionally to align manufacturing operations with wider business objectives
The Person:
*Degree (or equivalent) in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
*Experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment
*Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
*Proficiency with SolidWorks, with exposure to PDM and ERP systems beneficial
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
*Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*Strong communication and collaboration skills
*Proactive and motivated with a drive to improve efficiency
*Detail-oriented with a structured and analytical mindset
*Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment
