Licensing Receptionist
*Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
*Location: Oldham, OL1 4LA
*Duration: 2-3 months
*Pay: £13.18 per hour (PAYE)
*Working Hours: 9am till 5pm (Office Based)
Oldham Council are looking for a Licensing Receptionist to provide support to the licensing team, covering the busy reception desk providing face support to customers covering the range of licensing functions.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
*To carry out the duties and responsibilities of a Licensing Receptionist and, for that purpose, work within the Council’s approved policies and statutory duties in relation to aspects of Licensing as required.
*Receive and scrutinise applications made via the reception. Ensure applications are fully completed and all correct and relevant supporting documents are provided.
*To read and understand documents relating to applications which may include, but not limited to, driving licences, passports, motor insurance, logbooks and more.
*To ensure the correct payment has been made against any application taken – or that payment information is provided to the customer at the time of submission.
*Answer queries and provide guidance and support to applicants, in line with adopted policies and legislation. Provide this information in person as and when required at the reception desk.
*Liaise with members of the public for the purpose of the role.
*Handle sensitive information pertaining to an individual’s right to work, criminality checks and more.
*Understand key policy information relevant to the post-holder’s role in order to complete duties in line with these.
*Manage and maintain stock levels at the reception desk.
*Responsible for the collection and distribution of post within the service.
*Receive and direct any other members of the public to the correct service as required.
*To actively promote the equalities and diversity agenda in the workplace and in service delivery.
*To uphold and implement policies and procedures of the Council, including customer care, data protection, finance, ICT, safeguarding and health & safety policies.
*To actively engage with the behaviours and values of the Council to promote and support our Co-operative Agenda.
*To undertake continuous professional development and to be aware of new developments, legislation, initiatives, guidelines, policies and procedures as appropriate to the role.
*Undertake any additional duties commensurate with the level of the post.
