Are you looking to work within a fast growing media business with new plans to expand and grow their current operations?

Our client is an SME entrepreneurial business team of 20 people and is geared for its next phase of growth!
Key Responsibilities

*Invoice and bill commercial deals accurately, working closely with the commercial team to ensure correct structure and timing
*Allocate customer payments, investigate discrepancies and manage aged receivables and payables
*Maintain accurate ledger entries in Xero, including nominal ledger maintenance and journal postings
*Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and third-party ledgers to ensure accurate financial records
*Liaise with company solicitors regarding finance transactions in holding accounts, and reconcile legal ledgers with company records
*Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements
*Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
*Implement and improve internal processes to bring receivables and payables fully in-house and increase efficiency
*Resolve internal and external financial queries in a timely and professional manner
The Role Environment
Our client operates as a small, fast-moving and entrepreneurial business, so this role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on and taking real ownership of their work.

At the same time, the role sits within a small team with strong personalities, so collaboration is essential. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the business to understand commercial deals, resolve issues and identify opportunities to improve processes and create efficiencies.
Candidate Profile
They are looking for an experienced and confident Bookkeeper or Qualified/ Qualified by Experience (QBE) Accountant who is comfortable managing transactional finance within a small business environment.
This role requires someone who enjoys taking ownership, working autonomously and maintaining high standards of financial accuracy, while also collaborating closely with colleagues across the business.
Skills and Experience
*Minimum 6 years’ experience in bookkeeping or transactional finance roles
*Strong experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable end-to-end
*Solid knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger management
*Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns
