SEND Teaching Assistant – Part Time - Walsall (Start Date: March 2026)

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Part Time (Monday–Friday, variable days)

About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs across the school. You must be prepared to work with children of all ages.
Your role will include:
*Providing 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEND
*Assisting with personalised learning plans
*Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
*Supporting children with communication, sensory or physical needs
*Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
*Helping create an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
Key Responsibilities
*Support classroom learning and adapt activities for pupils with SEND
*Deliver targeted interventions based on individual needs
*Help monitor pupil progress and provide ongoing feedback
*Promote independence, confidence, and well-being in all learners
*Assist with care needs where required
*Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
*Maintain a patient, calm, and nurturing approach

*Ability to work flexibly across different age groups
*A passion for helping children thrive academically and emotionally
*Willingness to learn and take part in training
Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2 or Level 3) are beneficial but not required.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
