Job Description:
Our client
Our client is a long-established manufacturer based in the North East, currently undergoing a major period of investment and growth. They are transitioning from bespoke, engineered-to-order systems into high-volume production.
With this transformation underway, they are strengthening their engineering capability and seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who can bring structure, innovation and high-volume manufacturing expertise.
The opportunity
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping a rapidly evolving production environment. Responsibilities include:
*Driving lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, VSM, 5S, time studies and workflow optimisation
*Designing and implementing fixtures, tooling and efficient production layouts
*Supporting DFM/DFA activities and working closely with design and production teams
*Creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions and training documentation
*Contributing to cost-reduction projects and process standardisation as production volume scales
*Occasional involvement in supply chain and logistics improvement
This is an exciting opportunity to influence how a high-growth manufacturing operation is built for the future.
About you
We’re keen to speak with candidates who can bring:
*Experience within high-volume manufacturing such as electronics, automotive or assembly
*Strong understanding of lean tools and structured process improvement
*Ability to visualise, develop and communicate clear production processes
*Confidence working cross-functionally and managing multiple improvement projects
*A practical, hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement
*Engineering qualifications are beneficial but not essential
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact on manufacturing performance and play a key part in a business scaling for the future, we’d love to hear from you.
