Senior Planner
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne | Full-Time | Permanent
Jackson Hogg is supporting a growing engineering business in the energy sector with the appointment of a Senior Planner. If you’re experienced in Primavera P6 and looking to join a company delivering high-value, complex projects across oil & gas, renewables and the wider energy transition space, this could be a brilliant next step.
The Role & Responsibilities
As Senior Planner, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules across the full lifecycle from front-end engineering through to procurement, execution, and commissioning. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineering leads, and supply chain teams to ensure schedules are realistic, aligned, and fully resourced.
Key responsibilities include:
*Creating and managing detailed schedules in Primavera P6
*Leading planning across FEED, procurement, construction and close-out
*Integrating inputs from all departments to maintain a cohesive and accurate programme
*Producing weekly/monthly reports including progress updates, earned value metrics, and forecast analysis
*Supporting risk assessments, stakeholder meetings, and client reviews
*Identifying critical path risks and advising on recovery actions where needed
Desirable Skills & Experience
*Solid experience planning in oil & gas, offshore, energy or related engineering environments
*Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 in a live project delivery setting (essential)
*Understanding of project controls, dependencies and critical path analysis
*Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence key stakeholders
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment with multiple priorities
