Warehouse Supervisor – Reading
Full-Time | Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of a busy multi-temperature warehouse operation in Reading. Working across ambient, chilled, and frozen storage areas, you will play a key role in leading the team, maintaining high standards of safety, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Key Purpose of the Role
To oversee warehouse staff and daily activities, ensuring that goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched safely, accurately, and on time. You will maintain high levels of productivity, compliance, and stock integrity while fostering a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
*Supervise and motivate warehouse operatives across all temperature zones.
*Plan daily workloads, allocate tasks, and monitor team performance.
*Support the onboarding and training of new staff.
*Promote a positive, safe, and productive working environment.
Operational Oversight
*Oversee picking, packing, loading, and stock movement across ambient, chilled, and frozen stores.
*Ensure all materials and goods are handled correctly and stored safely.
*Monitor inventory accuracy, conduct regular stock checks, and resolve discrepancies.
*Support efficient goods-in and goods-out processes.
Health, Safety & Compliance
*Ensure all site safety procedures are followed at all times.
*Support safe use of MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
*Maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance across all temperature zones.
*Report hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly.
Communication & Reporting
*Communicate effectively with management, transport teams, and other departments.
*Complete daily operational reporting, including productivity, stock issues, and staffing.
*Escalate operational challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
*Previous experience in a supervisory role within warehousing or logistics.
*Experience working in multi-temperature environments (chilled/frozen/ambient).
*Strong communication and leadership skills.
*Ability to work Monday–Friday on a consistent full-time schedule.
*A forklift licence—preferably Reach Truck—would be beneficial.
*Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
