Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Hemel Hempstead

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our growing team within the plant and construction equipment industry. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and construction machinery at customer sites.
The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer with strong diagnostic abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving, ensuring machines are repaired efficiently and safely while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
*Diagnose, service, and repair plant and construction equipment on customer sites.
*Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and breakdown repairs.
*Fault find on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
*Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
*Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
*Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates and technical advice.
*Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard.
Requirements
*Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role within the plant, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
*NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent qualification (preferred).
*Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
*Experience working on construction machinery such as excavators, dumpers, loaders, or similar equipment.
*Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
*Full UK driving licence.
*Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
Desirable Skills
*Manufacturer training or certifications.
*Experience with modern diagnostic tools and telematics systems.
*Welding or fabrication skills.
