Job Description:
Role: Workshop Manager
Location: Taunton
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Duration: Permanent
Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis you will:
• Oversee the smooth running of all workshop activities, including scheduling, resource
allocation, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Coordinate workflow, monitor work progress, and ensure adherence to quality standards
and specifications as required.
• Ensure that all equipment, tools, and materials are readily available and properly
maintained.
• Ensure that all machines are Quality checked before leaving the premises.
• Work with the Hire Department to ensure that the Hire Fleet is maintained and repaired to
the required standard.
• Work with the Sales Department to ensure that all new machines are ready for delivery and
that any delays are communicated in a timely manner.
• Managing the Engineering team on a day-to-day basis and identifying any training
requirements.
• Carrying out staff reviews and identifying any areas which need to be addressed.
• Oversee Apprentice Engineers and all aspects of their Training and Education.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
• Ability to lead and motivate the team, ensuring that everyone works together efficiently and
effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to react quickly in order to address issues
quickly and effectively whilst under pressure
• Experience in managing projects, schedules, and budgets
• Strong engineering skills preferably within the MHE Industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure deadlines are met
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks.
