Reinsurance Accountant

About the Role
Join a dynamic commercial financial control team within a global Insurance group. As Reinsurance Accountant, you’ll be the key person for reinsurance queries, ensuring high-quality accounting and reporting while working in a supportive team environment that emphasizes mutual growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
*Review new and existing reinsurance arrangements and administer contracts on FSRI
*Ensure reinsurance premium payments are made in line with contractual terms
*Manage recoveries collection including submission of collection notes to brokers/reinsurers
*Liaise with underwriters, claims, and actuarial teams on potential and actual recoveries
*Ensure all bordereaux are issued and settled within contractual terms
*Report reinsurance movements correctly on a quarterly basis aligned to contractual terms
*Monitor reinsurance bad debt and maintain data quality across systems
*Ensure correct data transfer between underwriting, reinsurance, and financial systems
Requirements
*Prior experience in insurance working in reinsurance accounting either from practice or industry
*Ideally a qualified accountant
*Understanding of different types of reinsurance structures
*Knowledge of reinsurance working practices and terminology
*Good knowledge of Excel
*Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Pride in delivery of work with attention to detail
*Knowledge of FSRI, experience with CODA or similar accounting systems.
