Purchase Ledger Manager Brighton, East Sussex | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week
We are currently partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in Brighton who are looking to appoint an experienced Purchase Ledger Manager to join their finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who enjoys taking ownership of processes, supporting colleagues and ensuring the smooth running of the accounts payable function.
The RoleReporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchase ledger and procurement processes across the business while supporting the wider finance team.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Managing the purchase ledger and procurement function
*Processing and inputting purchase invoices
*Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders and freelance timesheets
*Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
*Managing supplier accounts within the finance system
*Maintaining supplier contracts and rebate agreements
*Preparing payment runs and issuing remittance advices
*Allocating costs to client projects
*Managing purchase ledger processes at month-end
*Reconciling payments and maintaining reconciliation records
*Processing staff expense claims
*Supporting colleagues with finance-related queries
*Assisting with onboarding and training of staff on finance systems
*Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and confident managing a busy purchase ledger function.
You will ideally have:
*Previous experience working within a finance team
*Strong purchase ledger / accounts payable experience
*Experience using finance systems (such as Sage or similar)
*Good Excel and general IT skills
*Strong communication and problem-solving skills
*The ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
Experience working across multiple finance functions or departments would be advantageous.
