Practice Manager / Senior Accountant
Lancaster | Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience
Looking for a role in practice where there’s a genuine route to Director or Partner level in the not too distant future?
We’re working with a well-established and respected accountancy practice in the Lancaster area that is looking to bring in an experienced practice professional who wants more than just a compliance role.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to take a bigger role in the future direction of a firm.
The Role
You’ll work closely with the partners across a broad client portfolio, taking ownership of work while also helping guide and develop more junior members of the team.
Typical responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and reviewing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
• Supporting clients with tax planning and general business advice
• Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact
• Reviewing work completed by junior staff and supporting their development
• Getting involved in improving systems, processes and client service
Over time there will be the opportunity to take on more responsibility in the running of the practice, with a clear path towards senior leadership.
What they’re looking for
• Practice background within an accountancy firm
• ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
• Comfortable managing client relationships
• Someone commercially minded who enjoys helping clients, not just producing accounts
• Ambition to progress towards Director or Partner level
