Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Warrington
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum + benefits
Permanent, Full-time, fully office based
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a well-established and thriving SME business based in Warrington, part of a larger international group. This role sits within a small leadership team and offers the opportunity to oversee the full finance function while supporting wider operational processes including payroll and HR administration.
This is a hands-on position, ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working both strategically and operationally while partnering with senior leadership to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
*Oversee the day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, expenses, and reconciliations.
*Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, payroll journals, and financial analysis.
*Manage month-end and year-end close processes and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
*Provide financial insights, KPI reporting, and profitability analysis to support senior management decision-making.
*Monitor cash flow and produce rolling cash flow forecasts.
*Support budgeting and forecasting processes, analysing variances and recommending corrective actions.
*Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and statutory requirements.
*Lead and manage the external audit process and support statutory accounts preparation.
*Line manage and develop another finance team member.
*Run end-to-end UK payroll including statutory payments, RTI submissions, and year-end reporting.
*Support HR administration processes including onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance.
*Identify and implement process improvements across finance, payroll, and HR operations.
Key Requirements:
*ACA, ACCA, or CIMA part or fully qualified or qualified by experience
*Proven experience managing month-end and year-end processes.
*Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), HMRC requirements, and financial controls and competencies
*Hands-on experience managing UK payroll processes is advantageous
*HR administration support experience within a business environment is also highly desirable
*Exceptional Accountancy software and Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
*Proactive, organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced SME environment.
