Job Description:
CAD Technician
We are seeking a motivated CAD Technician to join our design team. This role is ideal for candidates with 2D CAD experience and for trainees looking to develop a career in technical drawing and BIM workflows. 3D or Revit experience is not required - open to trainee applicants.
Key responsibilities
- Produce and revise accurate 2D technical drawings and drafting documentation
- Translate sketches, site information and engineering details into CAD format
- Follow drawing standards and layer management procedures
- Support engineers and designers with drawing updates and revisions
- Prepare drawing packs for issue and coordinate document control
- Learn and adopt 3D modelling/BIM tools as required (training provided)
Skills and experience
- Basic proficiency with 2D CAD software - autoCAD users
- Strong attention to detail and good numeracy
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new software and techniques (Revit/3D training available)
- Relevant technical qualification or demonstrable practical experience advantageous but not required
