RG Consultancy are working with a fantastic growing SME based in High Peak who are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance department. You will have full responsibility and ownership of Credit Control and report back into the Finance Manager

Role Responsibilities
*Manage and maintain a portfolio of accounts, ensuring effective credit control and timely collection of payments
*Proactively chase outstanding invoices via phone, email and other communication methods
*Monitor customer accounts and identify overdue balances, taking appropriate action to minimise risk and aged debt
*Build and maintain strong relationships with dealer customers to support efficient payment processes
*Handle high-volume transactions, with some accounts purchasing frequently and others less regularly
*Manage and process invoice activity, including both automated and manual invoicing for higher-value transactions
*Review credit limits and payment terms, escalating concerns where necessary
*Produce and provide regular updates, reports and insights on debtor status to the Finance Manager
*Take ownership of the credit control function, managing workload independently and driving improvements where possible
*Liaise with internal departments such as finance and sales to resolve queries or disputes affecting payments
*Work with international customers, including those in the US and Middle East, handling different customer behaviours and payment practices
*Support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and debtor information
Person Specification
*At least 5+ years’ experience working as a credit controller or within a similar position
*Working within a fast based environment and dealing with multiple accounts
*Confident communicator on the phone and via email, dealing with different types of customers/clients
*A CICM qualification would be an advantage but not essential, study support may be considered to complete this qualification
*Experience working within a manufacturing business would be an advantage but not essential
*Strong systems/ IT skills
