Job Description:
*Lead and develop the Finance controls team as a whole and as individuals
*Manage the business’ cash position, to include maintaining a live cashflow
*Drive continuous improvement
The Financial Controller will own the control environment and cash position of the business, ensuring these are well controlled with no surprises. Build great relationships with the business, group team and other group companies to support delivery of a controlled financial reporting cycle inline with agreed deadlines and submission requirements. Lead, manage and develop the financial controls team. Drive continuous improvement across the whole finance team, deliver best in class financial reporting and controls.
*Lead and develop the finance controls team as a whole and as individuals
*Manage the business’ cash position, to include maintaining a live cashflow forecast and report variances to this, to ensure no surprises in cashflow management; to include hedging of foreign currency if appropriate
*Work closely with the group central functions team to actively manage the business’ AP & AR position; liaising as appropriate to enable customer invoices clear promptly
*Ensure that all financial controls are effective, appropriate and constantly reviewed & developed, ensuring they meet their objectives and are aligned to group requirements
*Actively identify any weaknesses in procedures and controls, provide a solution and implement it, so as to ensure accurate records are being maintained
*Liaise regularly with sister companies across group to maintain agreed intercompany balances at all times, supporting cashflow management across group
*Manage the annual budgeting cycle to ensure annual budgets, and regular updated forecasts are delivered to timetable as required for Management to effectively run the business.
*Ensure that all reporting requirements from the central finance team are submitted accurately and within deadline
*Provide analysis on the deployment of capital investment, supporting post implementation reviews
*Produce year end reporting as required, ensuring external delivery requirements are closed out in a timely manner
*Own relationship and liaise with internal and external auditors
*Work with the Dispatch team to ensure a robust PoD process is in place to minimise and mitigate any claims
*Ensure all information produced is accurate, well presented, fully explained and addresses the relevant issues
*Liaise with all departments to ensure any financial impact of their activities is being recorded accurately
*Support with strategy and execution which enable the business to achieve it’s strategic goals
*Ad-hoc support as required by the Finance Director
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
*Demonstrable cash management experience
*Previous experience of line management with ability to support and develop a small team
*Previous experience of group reporting requirements
*Experienced gained in a Manufacturing environment
