ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Production Manager to join a busy and fast-paced production environment in Luton.
This role would suit someone with experience in food production or manufacturing who is looking to step into, or develop within, a supervisory or leadership position. Candidates with Team Leader or Supervisory experience will be particularly well suited to this role.
You will support the Production Manager in ensuring the smooth running of daily operations, helping coordinate production activities while maintaining quality and operational standards.


IDEAL CANDIDATE
*Experience working within food production or manufacturing environments
*Food production experience is desirable
*Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Operative
*Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
*Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment

KEY RESPONSIBILIES
*Assist the Production Manager in coordinating customer orders and deliveries
*Support the planning and monitoring of ripening cycles to meet customer demand and quality standards
*Track stock levels across cold storage, ripening rooms, and distribution areas
*Help manage daily production workflows and resolve operational issues quickly
*Support quality checks on incoming and processed fruit in line with company and customer standards
*Assist with maintaining compliance with food safety, hygiene, and import regulations
*Identify operational inefficiencies and support improvements
*Assist in developing standard operating procedures and documentation
*Act as a link between operations, sales, and logistics teams
*Provide updates on production status, delays, or stock levels
*Assist in coordinating customer delivery requirements
