Design and Technology Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Technician to join a dynamic school in Wigan. This full-time position is available to start as soon as possible and offers an ongoing role supporting the Design and Technology department.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Prepare materials and equipment for design and technology classes, ensuring all resources are available and in good working condition.
*Assist teachers during lessons by setting up equipment and helping to manage classroom activities.
*Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
*Perform routine checks and maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure they are safe for use.
*Support students in using technology and equipment under supervision.
*Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, keeping track of expenditures.
*Assist in the organization and storage of tools and materials.
*Collaborate with staff to develop new resources and support curriculum development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience working as a technician or in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
*Good knowledge of the equipment and materials used in design and technology.
*Strong organizational and time management skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of supporting both staff and students.
