About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Policy Manager to join a highly supportive HR team within a complex, governance-driven environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in organisations where decision-making involves multiple stakeholders, formal committees, and structured approval routes — such as local government, public sector, or higher education.

You will provide expert leadership on a number of existing policy projects and act as the organisational lead for the end-to-end development of HR policies, governance reviews, and formal consultation processes.

Key Responsibilities
*Lead the scoping, drafting, consultation, approval and implementation of HR policies.
*Map out likely governance routes and develop comprehensive project plans for each policy review.
*Prepare high-quality papers, reports and policy drafts for HR Committees, Trade Union meetings, and senior governance bodies.
*Manage formal consultations with Trade Unions ahead of committee stages.
*Influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
*Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
*Contribute to ongoing governance reviews and support wider HR policy projects.

About You
We are looking for someone who can bring significant expertise in policy development within structured, governance-led organisations. You will be comfortable navigating decision-making processes, working with influential stakeholder groups, and managing multiple policy projects simultaneously.

You will have:
*Proven experience as an HR Policy Specialist
*Excellent policy writing and report writing skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
*Strong project management capability.
*Experience working in local government, public sector, or higher education, or similarly complex environments.
*Good working knowledge of UK employment law.
*The ability to manage discussions with Trade Unions.
*A collaborative, steady, and methodical approach to policy development.

Why Join them?
You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced HR policy team who value collaboration, thoughtfulness, and high-quality work. This role offers an opportunity to shape key organisational policies and contribute to meaningful, long-term change within a respected and governance-rich environment.
