CNC Programmer/Setter
Location: Newbury
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Employment Type: Full-time
A leading engineering organisation within the advanced manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional looking to work on high-precision components across sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, and Medical.
The role offers long-term stability, modern facilities, and the chance to contribute to exciting engineering projects within a forward-thinking environment.
Role Responsibilities
*Program, set, and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC Turning Centres.
*Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances across multiple high-performance industries.
*Manage tool life and implement sister tooling strategies.
*Set up and run one-off development parts as well as small-to-medium production batches.
*Support the identification of manufacturing needs, equipment requirements, and new facility integration.
*Contribute to key projects and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
*Maintain the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
*Operate and manage multiple machines during shifts.
Skills & Experience Required
*Strong manufacturing knowledge of Hard Metal machining/finishing.
*Experience in fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environments.
*Ability to confidently read engineering drawings, including GD&T.
*Skilled in tool setting and tool probing.
*Experience with Edgecam or Vericut is beneficial.
*Experience with Heidenhain or Fanuc controls is advantageous.
*Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
*Proven background in programming, setting, and operating 4- and 5-axis CNC machinery.
*Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
