Our client is a privately owned, dynamic business, focused on providing home appliance solutions to retailers, consumers and business to business customers. Due to continued growth now have an excellent opportunity for a Head of QA to join their team in Wigan.


Candidates will have a background in electricals, SDA’s, MDA’s or similar.


This is a new role for someone to lead the Technical team in the delivery of company strategy for all electrical products categories, driving a significant change in our product quality perception. You will be responsible for identifying the need for and leading quality change programmes within the supply base, identifying cost saving opportunities and ensuring that the safety & legality of the company’s product portfolio.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


*Lead the Technical team in the delivery of company strategy for all electrical products categories, driving a significant change in product quality perception.
*Accountable for product testing, factory audits, pre-shipment inspections and training of team members.
*Ensure that all products we bring to market are safe, fit for purpose and are of acceptable quality, meeting both internal & external customer requirements.
*Meet all legal compliance standards required and constantly meet customer expectations in relation to the quality of product.
*Monitor and advise on the performance of the company’s quality management system, produce data and reports on performance, measuring against set standards.
*Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality system is functioning properly.
*Manage the investigation and satisfactory resolution of customer complaints, in a timely fashion
*Monitoring & reporting on supplier performance against a set of defined criteria, to aid supplier selection and ongoing performance measurement.


The Head of QA / Technical will have the following skills / experience:


*10 years plus post qualification experience in either a manufacturing, product test or laboratory background of electrical appliances
*Experience managing a team.
*Electrical engineering degree or equivalent
*Thorough, attention to detail, quality-focused
*Enthusiastic, confident, uses initiative, works well in a team and independently, articulate,
*Open to new ideas and ways of working
