Management Accountant
Inverkeithing
Full-time | 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)
12-month fixed term contract
Salary: Competitive £40,000 -£45,000 per annum
About the Role
Reed Finance are delighted to be supporting a reputable organisation in the Inverkeithing area in the recruitment of a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to join a supportive team and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support financial management processes, ensure strong financial controls are in place, and provide meaningful analysis to support informed organisational decision-making.
This is a varied and impactful role offering visibility across the organisation and the chance to influence continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
As Management Accountant, you will:
*Support the preparation of monthly management accounts in line with accounting policies and reporting deadlines
*Provide finance support and advice to budget holders
*Prepare monthly investment reconciliations and journals
*Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including depreciation, acquisitions and disposals
*Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
*Provide support and cover to the wider finance team, including payroll
*Advise colleagues on accounting procedures and budget structures
*Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
*Support the annual external audit process and liaise directly with auditors
*Identify and contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes
*Assist with changes required due to accounting standards or policy updates
*Support annual budgeting and regular forecasting processes
*Contribute to cashflow forecasting
*Prepare financial analysis for management and decision-making
*Support the management and recording of purchasing and supplier contracts
*Carry out ad hoc duties as required by the Head of Finance
About You
Essential:
*Qualified or working toward a professional accountancy qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
*Strong understanding of annual financial statements and the audit process
*Solid knowledge of management accounting
*Experience preparing and presenting financial information to management
*Demonstrable experience working within financial controls
*Experience producing budget and forecast information
Skills & Competencies:
*Excellent organisational and time-management skills
*Strong communication skills, able to engage with financial and non-financial stakeholders
*Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
*Creative approach to improving financial tools and processes
*Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities
*Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to work using your own initiative
