A wonderful opportunity to join this non-profit membership organisation as their Finance Manager. This organisation, steeped in History, is looking for an exceptional Finance professional to join their well-established small and friendly team based in the offices close to Holborn. This is a Monday to Friday position, working core hours (35 hours per week) At present there is an opportunity for one day remote working.


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong Finance/management accountant background ideally coming from the charity/non-profit/membership sectors.Candidates with professional qualifications or qualified by experience will be equally considered. This role is multi-faceted, and they are looking for someone who is flexible, has a keen eye for detail, is analytical and is an outstanding communicator.Experience of Xero is desirable. To start 20th April.


Reporting into the COO, your responsibilities are varied with duties across the membership and the charitable arms of the organisation. These include:


*Maintaining the bank accounts in Xero.
*Creating invoices – heavy processing in September and December
*Reconciling the sales ledger and assisting with the chasing of outstanding sums
*Reconciling booking system receipts and payments
*Preparing monthly Management Accounts
*Preparing monthly Investment Journals
*Liaising with the bank
*Setting accounts for future events, managing income and expenses
*Notifying staff of various income streams as necessary
*Reconciling and filing quarterly VAT returns.
*Reconciling supplier statements and making monthly payments
*Making payments and or transfers in respect of various refunds
*Assisting the Treasurers with enquiries
*Payment of grants
*Payment of Corporation Tax (returns are prepared by the auditors)
*Reconciling quarterly payments
*Various ad hoc assignments - preparing income and expenditure accounts in respect of special events
*Preparation of budgets
*Preparing year end accounts for audit and carrying out the online audit
*Producing stock valuations
*Banking all cheques
*Preparing Monthly Payroll using Xero Software including filing year end P35 and P11d forms and payment of monthly PAYE & NIC
*Completing and submitting monthly pension return to the Pension company
*Raising sales invoices to the shop
