Job Description:
Management Accountant
Swindon (Office-based 3–4 days per week with some flexibility to work from home)
£45,000 – £48,000 + benefits
**Candidates are required to be available Immediately or on a short notice period**
A growing international business is seeking a Management Accountant to join its UK team. This is a standalone role offering excellent exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and international finance teams.
This position would suit a proactive finance professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and wants to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis, and operational support to the business.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting the financial performance of the business through the preparation of management accounts, financial analysis, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves working with global finance teams across Europe and Asia to ensure consistent reporting and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
*Produce monthly management accounts and reporting packs for senior leadership
*Prepare and reconcile balance sheets
*Maintain fixed asset registers and manage depreciation schedules
Accounting Operations
*Maintain and manage the general ledger
*Process and reconcile intercompany transactions
*Manage online banking operations including payments and reconciliations
*Support royalty calculations and payments linked to international agreements
Tax & Compliance
*Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
*Support compliance with HMRC requirements and other statutory obligations
*Assist with regulatory reporting where required
Audit & External Stakeholders
*Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process
*Work with banks, advisors and other external partners where necessary
Financial Planning & Analysis
*Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
*Provide cost analysis and variance reporting
*Support cashflow management and forecasting
*Contribute to improvements in financial systems and reporting processes
About You
*ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or part-qualified with strong experience
*Experience preparing management accounts within a commercial environment
*Experience in manufacturing or a similar industry would be advantageous
*Comfortable working with international stakeholders
*Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and lookups)
*Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as SAP, Sage or Oracle
*Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
*Able to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
