QUANTITY SURVEYOR
London (Office Based Mon–Thurs | Work From Home Fridays)
£40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
Full Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction specialist working on high-profile façade and building envelope projects across London.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the commercial side of construction, working closely with project teams to manage costs, contracts, and project performance from start to finish.
You’ll be joining a supportive commercial team involved in delivering large-scale architectural façade packages including glazing, cladding, metalwork and specialist envelope systems across major developments.

WORKING PATTERN
*Monday – Thursday: Office based (London or Hertfordshire project offices)
*Friday: Remote working
*Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (45-minute break)
*6 month probation period

START DATE
ASAP – but flexibility can be offered for candidates with notice periods.


THE ROLE
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of façade projects, ensuring costs are controlled and projects remain commercially successful.
Typical responsibilities include:
*Preparing and managing project cost plans, budgets and cash flows
*Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation to identify risks and opportunities
*Managing variations and change orders
*Supporting tender processes and subcontractor procurement
*Preparing interim valuations, final accounts and commercial reports
*Monitoring project profitability and reporting to senior management
*Conducting site visits to review progress and assist with measurements
*Liaising with clients, contractors, design teams and internal departments
*Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
*Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - THE RIGHT PERSON
We’re keen to speak with individuals who have experience working in the construction industry, ideally with exposure to subcontractor environments.

ESSENTIAL
*Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
*Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within construction
*Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
*Experience in cost planning, take-offs and commercial reporting
*Strong numerical and analytical skills
*Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office

DESIRED
*Experience working with subcontractors rather than main contractors
*Knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts
*Exposure to façade, cladding, curtain walling or glazing systems
*Full UK Driving Licence
*Working towards RICS or CIOB accreditation
