A Unique Opportunity in Defence Logistics
I’m supporting a leading defence logistics organisation to recruit a Business Development Manager who will play a key role in expanding their footprint across MOD and defence-aligned supply chain environments.
This is a strategic, relationship-led business development position. It requires someone who understands MOD logistics from the inside – someone who can open doors, spot opportunity, and build long-term partnerships with senior stakeholders across defence.
Important – MOD Logistics Experience Is Essential
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have prior experience working within MOD logistics. This could be through:
*Direct MOD supply chain or logistics roles
*Defence primes
*Defence freight, transport or distribution providers
*Organisations delivering contracted logistics services to the MOD
Applications without MOD logistics experience cannot be considered.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
*Identifying and securing new opportunities across defence logistics, transport, and supply chain markets
*Building relationships with MOD stakeholders, primes, integrators, and defence-aligned organisations
*Mapping the market and shaping a long-term business development strategy
*Representing the organisation at industry events, briefings, and senior engagements
*Working closely with operational teams to design tailored logistics solutions
*Providing competitive insight to support bids, proposals, and strategic decision-making
This is an autonomous, market-creating role with significant influence.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
*Strong background within MOD logistics
*Experience in business development, account growth, or strategic sales
*Ability to engage credibly with senior defence stakeholders
*Strong commercial acumen and a consultative, proactive approach
Desirable
*Existing network across MOD, primes, integrators or defence logistics providers
*Understanding of defence distribution, storage, heavy lift or specialist logistics
*Experience within complex, regulated or technical sectors
Package
*£50,000 base (potential to rise to £60,000 depending on experience)
*Commission & incentive scheme
*Company car
*Ongoing review of commission structure to ensure competitiveness
