Someone who doesn’t shy away from difficult conversations, knows how to build relationships with customers, and takes pride in turning aged debt into cleared balances. If you enjoy the challenge of managing your own ledger, resolving queries, and ultimately getting payments over the line, this opportunity will feel rewarding from day one.
The Credit Controller will be responsible for proactively managing outstanding debt, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting wider finance operations. Alongside core credit control responsibilities, the role will contribute to reporting, process improvements, and integration work relating to new business acquisitions.
What you’ll be doing:
*Managing and maintaining an aged debt ledger
*Proactively chasing outstanding payments and following up overdue balances
*Producing and analysing reports from the ERP system
*Providing regular aged debt updates to managers and directors
*Working closely with the Treasury function to assist with allocation of receipts and cheques
*Liaising with the Invoicing team to resolve billing issues
*Investigating and resolving customer queries in a timely manner
*Supporting the Head of Finance Operations with ad-hoc project work
*Assisting with credit control integration relating to newly acquired businesses
What do you need?
*Previous Credit Control experience is essential
*Experience working within a finance team environment
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
*Experience working with financial systems
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
*Ability to build effective working relationships across teams
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Flexible, proactive and solutions-focused approach
