Job Description:
Teaching Assistant (BSL Specialist) – Full Time
Location: Peterborough Area
Start Date: After Easter
Pay Rate: £14 – £16 per hour
Employer: REED Education – Working in partnership with a local secondary school
REED Education are proud to be supporting a well-established secondary school in the Peterborough area who are seeking a British Sign Language (BSL) trained or experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team full time after the Easter break.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with students who use BSL to support their communication, learning, and access to the curriculum. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a young person’s educational experience within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide one-to-one or small-group support for students who use British Sign Language
*Assist in delivering tailored learning activities
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the school’s SEND team
*Help ensure students can access lessons, understand content, and participate fully
*Promote independence and confidence in learning
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have:
*BSL qualification (any level) or proven experience using BSL in an educational setting
*Experience supporting young people in a school or similar environment
*A patient, adaptable and caring approach
*A commitment to supporting inclusive education
