Site Agent - Utilities Diversions (HS2)
Location: Bicester area
Contract: Long-termRate
I am working with a major contractor recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to support a major infrastructure package on HS2, focusing specifically on Utilities Diversion works. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing delivery team on one of the UK’s most significant civil engineering projects.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will take responsibility for the planning, management, and delivery of utility diversion works across the project. This includes coordination of subcontractors, stakeholder liaison, assurance, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.You will be key in driving progress, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the wider engineering and construction teams during complex diversion activities.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage day-to-day site activities related to utility diversions (water, gas, electric, telecoms etc.)
*Lead and coordinate subcontract teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery
*Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and progress documentation
*Liaise with utility providers, designers, and HS2 representatives
*Ensure works adhere to CDM, HS2 standards, and all statutory requirements
*Support planning, risk management, and lookahead programmes
*Oversee quality assurance and compliance with approved designs
Essential Skills & Experience
*Proven experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering
*Strong background in utility diversions.
*CSCS card
*Excellent leadership, communication, and subcontract management capability
*Ability to work within a Tier 1 contractor or major infrastructure delivery environment
Desirable
*Previous experience working on HS2
*SMSTS, First Aid, and relevant utility/NRASWA qualifications
