Role OverviewWe are seeking HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychologist) for full-time and part-time roles within our client’s Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team based in Norwich. This is an exciting and valuable clinic-based/hybrid position for suitably qualified clinicians working with children and young people referred for autism and/or ADHD assessments via NHS Patient Choice and GP pathways.

Working with digital workflows and smart report-writing tools, you’ll contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, helping ensure timely, accurate diagnoses that lead to appropriate support and improved outcomes for families.
Key Responsibilities• Conducting face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process using ADOS-2
• Conducting remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom
• Participating collaboratively in peer MDT diagnostic discussions, supported by senior clinicians where needed
• Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families
• Producing accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with the help of smart tools
• Writing assessment reports in a timely and professional manner with appropriate recommendations and interventions
• Working efficiently to meet service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Delivering clinical supervision (where applicable)
• Additional responsibilities may be added depending on service needs and previous experience, such as consultation to other clinicians, quality checking assessment reports, or service development projects
• Able to travel to the Norwich clinic base to conduct in-person assessments
Essential Requirements• HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, or Educational Psychologist)
• Minimum of 1 year experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people
• Trained and experienced in the use of ADOS-2 (essential)
• Experience with diagnostic tools such as ADI-R
• In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD
• Strong understanding of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations
• Experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting
• Effective time management and caseload organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and meet clinical deadlines
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and participate in collaborative diagnostic discussions
• Highly developed written language skills used to produce high-quality clinical reports
• Well-developed communication skills with children, young people, and their families, ensuring compassionate, clear, and professional interactions throughout the assessment process
• Must be eligible to work in the UK
Desirable Experience• Clinical supervision experience
• Additional qualifications in relevant areas of autism and/or ADHD
• Experience conducting assessments of mental health conditions
