Job Description:
DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
Our clients are seeking a proactive Development Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the Development Teams and Wider Advancement Division. The role includes data entry and analysis, diary management, drafting correspondence and reports, preparing presentations, arranging meetings and travel, supporting fundraising initiatives, event coordination, and general office administration. The ideal candidate is highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, communicate clearly, and work independently or collaboratively to provide practical solutions and maintain strong professional relationships.
DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT ROLE:
*Providing comprehensive administrative support to senior development leaders and the wider advancement team
*Managing complex diary scheduling, meeting coordination, travel arrangements and hospitality logistics
*Supporting donor and stakeholder relationship management, ensuring professional communication with internal teams, donors, alumni and external partners
*Maintaining and updating donor and alumni data within the CRM to ensure records remain accurate and up to date
*Running reports, queries and data analysis to support fundraising and relationship management activity
*Drafting and preparing correspondence, presentations, proposals, reports and briefing materials
*Assisting with fundraising administration and prospect tracking, including monitoring actions and follow-ups from meetings
*Providing financial administration support, including expense processing, purchase orders and budget reconciliation
*Organising and supporting high-profile events, including guest communication, invitations, logistics, seating plans and event day coordination
*Conducting research and data gathering to support team projects and donor engagement strategies
*Maintaining organised electronic and physical filing systems to ensure efficient administrative processes
*Working collaboratively across the division to provide cross-team administrative support during busy periods or staff absence
DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT ESSENTIALS:
*Bringing proven experience in administrative, coordination or PA roles within complex organisations
*Managing busy diaries, meetings and travel arrangements
*Handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
*Using databases and CRM systems to manage and analyse data
*Providing high-quality customer service and building strong professional relationships
*Improving and adapting administrative processes and systems to enhance efficiency
*Organising and managing time effectively, with the ability to prioritise workload
*Communicating confidently with strong written and verbal skills
*Using IT systems at a high level, including databases, spreadsheets and document preparation
