Job PurposeTo maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the school premises. The School Cleaner is responsible for ensuring that classrooms, communal areas, and facilities are cleaned to a high standard to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of pupils, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities*Clean designated areas of the school in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
*Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in classrooms, corridors, offices, and communal areas.
*Clean and sanitise washrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
*Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
*Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
*Clean desks, tables, and other furniture surfaces.
*Wipe down high-touch surfaces including door handles, light switches, and handrails.
*Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and report any faults.
*Ensure all cleaning chemicals are used and stored safely in accordance with company procedures.
*Lock or secure areas where required after cleaning duties are completed.
*Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages identified during cleaning duties.


Additional Duties*Assist with periodic deep cleaning during school holidays where required.
*Carry out additional cleaning tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor or Site Manager.
*Support infection control procedures when necessary.

*Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
*Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
*Ability to follow cleaning schedules and instructions.
*Good attention to detail.
*Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Desirable:
*Previous cleaning experience, particularly in a school or commercial environment.
*Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
*Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
