A growing and fast-paced consumer products business is seeking a Finance Systems Accountant to support the optimisation of its finance systems and processes during a key period of development. Working closely with the Head of Finance and wider finance team, this role will focus on improving how the finance function operates within Microsoft Dynamics NAV, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, automate reporting and strengthen financial controls.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance and systems, delivering practical improvements that enhance efficiency and reporting capability.
Interim Project Accountant – Package:
*Outside IR35 contract
*£300–£350 per day

Interim Systems Accountant – Responsibilities:
*Review and optimise finance processes within Microsoft Dynamics NAV
*Identify opportunities to automate journals, reconciliations and reporting
*Improve month-end close processes and reduce manual intervention
*Enhance balance sheet controls and audit trail documentation
*Work closely with finance, operational and IT stakeholders to implement improvements
*Support development of management reporting through improved system utilisation
*Document improved processes and ensure changes are embedded within the team
*Provide training and support to finance users where required
Interim Systems Accountant – About You:
*Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
*Strong experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central
*Proven background improving finance processes and system usage
*Strong understanding of core finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R)
*Ability to work autonomously and deliver improvements in a contract environment
*Advanced Excel skills
