Assistant Manager – Jewellers
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Salary: DOE + Annual Performance-Related Pay (APRP)
Hours: Full-time, 39–41.25 hrs/week
Monday–Saturday: 8:45am – 6:00pm
Thursday: Early & late shift rotation (8:45am – 8:00pm)
Sunday: 10:15am – 4:30pm
Includes one full weekend off and one extra weekend day off roughly every 6 weeks; additional weekends off may be offered when possible.

Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Manager with jewellery or watch retail experience to support the Store Manager in leading a high-performing, customer-focused store in Plymouth.
This is a hands-on, sales-driven role where you will:
*Lead by example on the shop floor
*Drive your ownpersonal sales performance
*Support and motivate the wider team to achieve targets
*Maintain the highest standards of visual merchandising and customer service
You will also help manage rotas, monitor KPIs, and support day-to-day store operations, ensuring the store performs at its best across sales, service, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the Store Manager in daily store operations
*Lead by example to drive personal sales and team performance
*Motivate and develop the team to achieve sales targets and KPIs
*Maintain exceptional customer service and after-sales care
*Assist with staff training, coaching, and development
*Support rota planning and weekend cover
*Ensure stock control, security, and accurate stock management
*Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation
*Analyse sales figures, trends, and forecasts to maximise revenue
*Maintain and develop the customer database and client relationships
*Ensure store cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and operational standards
*Follow cash handling procedures and financial controls
*Support compliance with health & safety regulations
About You
You’ll have a proven track record in jewellery or watch retail management and a passion for luxury retail and team development.
Key requirements:
*Previous retail sales management experience, ideally in jewellery or watches
*A strong work ethic with customer service at the heart of everything you do
*An exceptional personal sales record and the ability to inspire and develop a sales team
*Experience working with KPIs and driving sales performance
*Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
*Hands-on, professional, and customer-focused with a passion for luxury retail
*Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate effectively
