Job Description:
Do you have a passion for working on cultural and heritage projects? This well established, multi-disciplined Building Consultancy is now looking to grow their Project Management team and recruit both an Intermediate PM and a Senior PM with a focus on front end development RIBA stages 0-3 under traditional procurement routes, and ideally with experience in cultural/heritage and/or healthcare sectors.


If you have experience working in traditional projects and are able to lead them, develop briefs, develop programmes, etc using your own concepts and experience, sometimes drawing on the input of others, but also being able to critically appraise and apply your own knowledge to create something - often out of very little information, then this is the role for you. As it is that front end role that our client is renowned for!


I work directly with the Partner who opened the London office in 2012 and has built a team of dedicated and likeminded people around her. Feedback from professionals placed there over the years is excellent.

They are looking to recruit a motivated and resourceful Senior/Project Manager to be based at their London Office in Waterloo to lead in the development and delivery of capital projects. The role will include some travel across London and the South East and on occasion to elsewhere in the UK. The ideal candidate will:


*Have a strong technical experience of refurbishment/ conversion/ extension/ new build, possibly from a building surveying, quantity surveying, architectural, or engineering background
*Have experience of contract administration (ideally NEC or JCT)
*Have a particular focus on driving projects through delivery to Practical Completion
*Have direct experience of public sector projects
*Have experience of working closely with and managing clients, professional teams and contractors
*Be competent in preparing reports, both written and financial
*Thrive as part of a growing team, helping to mentor junior consultants and apprentices
*Be chartered or working towards it e.g. MRICS, MCIOB.


Requirements:


The role can be undertaken over 4 or 5 days per week and will encompass construction / contracts and technical project management. This will include:


*Project concept and brief development
*Procurement of consultants and contractors
*Chairing management and co-ordination meetings
*Developing and implementing strong programme and financial management and reporting
*Directing, monitoring, and overseeing the design activity
*Undertaking risk management studies and implementing change control procedures
*Monitoring and overseeing the construction and handover phases of the project
*Contract administration under JCT 2016 and/or NEC3 or 4.
