An established organisation within the education sector is seeking a qualified Finance Business Partner to join its central finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with senior leadership teams, providing strategic financial insight that supports strong operational and educational outcomes.
In this role, you will act as a trusted finance partner to operational leaders, delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting support and strategic analysis. You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial planning while helping stakeholders align financial resources with organisational priorities.
The role will also involve managing and developing junior members of the finance team, making it ideal for someone looking to step into or build upon leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Business Partnering - *Act as the primary finance contact for senior leaders across assigned areas of the organisation
*Provide timely and accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making
*Prepare monthly management accounts including variance analysis and forecasting
*Support the development of annual budgets aligned with operational objectives
*Deliver financial planning insight to support effective resource allocation
*Provide financial modelling and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives
Financial Planning & Analysis - *Collaborate with operational leaders to develop robust annual budgets
*Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to support both short and long-term planning
*Analyse financial data and benchmarking information to support performance improvements
*Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and deliver value for money
Financial Reporting & Compliance - *Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
*Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and governance frameworks
*Support budget holders in understanding financial reports and managing budgets effectively
*Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on financial systems and processes
Leadership & Team Management - *Line manage and support the development of three Junior Finance Business Partners
*Provide guidance, coaching and support to ensure high-quality financial analysis and reporting
*Help build a collaborative and high-performing finance team environment
Organisation-Wide Finance Responsibilities - *Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and the annual audit process
*Promote strong financial controls and compliance with internal financial regulations
*Assist with procurement processes including tender specifications and supplier negotiations
*Contribute to risk management and the integrity of financial systems and data
About You
We are looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Essential *Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
*Strong financial analysis, modelling and business partnering experience
*Experience producing management accounts and financial forecasts
*Experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders
*Ability to interpret financial data and present insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders
